Featuring Artist Mia Tavonatti

Join Dana Point Sister Cities for a special evening celebrating the power of art to connect communities across oceans.

Acclaimed painter and glass mosaic artist Mia Tavonatti, creator of Dana Point’s iconic Stairwave leading up to Lantern Bay Park, will share the story behind this breathtaking public art installation. Spanning approximately 364 feet and covering 118 stairway risers, the ceramic tile and fused glass mosaic captures “a colorful wave breaking across the stairs” – a tribute to our coastal identity and creative spirit. Local volunteers played an important role in bringing this ambitious vision to life.

During this engaging presentation, Mia will discuss her artistic inspiration, creative process, and the collaboration that made the Stairwave possible. Guests will also have the opportunity to participate in a hands-on interactive art activity inspired by the evening’s theme.

Enjoy light bites and wine while connecting with fellow art lovers and supporters of Dana Point Sister Cities.
